State of Emergency for NC coastal areas July 31, 2020
Governor Cooper declared a State of Emergency for North Carolina on Friday, July 31st in the wake of the hurricane named Isaias possibly impacting our coastal areas.
For areas located off the coast, including us, rain and wind gusts are likely with effects being felt Monday into Tuesday for our area.
Residents of possible affected areas in North Carolina have been asked to be prepared, and to have a plan in place should this storm prompt any evacuations for those on the coast of N.C..
This situation is different due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are already battling.
Preparations need to include safety precautions of masks, sanitizing items, and the need to also be at safe distances from each other when at all possible, as well as shelters being limited for their capacity.
