Governor Roy Cooper extends the eviction moratorium for North Carolina until January 31st, 2021,
as well as unemployment benefits for the first quarter of the year
“(WHEREAS, the undersigned has therefore determined that to cooperate and coordinate
with the President’s extension of benefits into 2021, to allow the General Assembly time to
consider whether to extend N.C. Gen. Stat. § 96-14.15 into 2021, and in order to continue
expediting the processing of unemployment insurance claims, the measures in Executive Order
No. 131 on expediting unemployment insurance claims” should be reissued for unemployment
insurance claims filed for periods beginning on or after December 31, 2020;)”
