The Town has two (2) annual events in which bricks are laid in Veterans Park, located at the corner of Ruth and Main Streets. One event is Memorial Day; the other event is Veteran’s Day.
Bricks can be purchased in honor of or in memory of any person(s) and laid in the Park. Although most are either military or military-affiliated (all branches) this is not a requirement for a brick purchase. Most of the bricks purchased are purchased by individuals with ties, in some way, to Spring Lake.
The Memorial Brick is laid in the park at one of the two (2) annual ceremonies the Town hosts. Additional bricks can be purchased (for an additional cost) as keepsakes and presented to the honoree or a representative at the ceremony for an additional cost. If not, all who purchase bricks and have them laid in the park receive a framed keepsake which is presented at the ceremony which includes a photo of the brick, the park, the date the brick was presented, and a write-up on the importance of Veterans Park.
We understand that there are occasions when a public display is not wanted. Upon request, bricks can be purchased and laid in the Park privately.
Bricks can be engraved with three (3) lines of text. Each line may contain up to but no more than fifteen (15) characters to include spaces. PLEASE USE THE ATTACHED FORM TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT SPACING. The cost of this priceless treasure is only $100. In order to ensure timely delivery, orders must be submitted and paid in full a minimum of four (4) weeks prior to the ceremony date to ensure proper time to process the order.
