NC’s Gov. Roy Cooper announced yesterday in a news conference that North Carolina will remain in Safer at Home Phase 2 for another five weeks in an effort to try and lessen the curve of the COVID-19 virus in our state.
The hopes are that after the colleges and public schools return this month, some remotely, some blended, some mixed remote and in-person learning, that our state will be able to contain the spread of the virus and prove that we can move out of Phase 2 and into Phase 3 for our state.
Officials say that other states that moved too quickly into re-opening are now having to back track and close some businesses down again due to the high increase in the spread of the virus.
They are still urging all residents to wear a mask or face covering when in public, wait 6 feet apart from another person, and wash your hands frequently throughout the day. This is also known as the Three W’s. they say that this is what is helping our numbers either start to steady or possibly decline in some areas.
