Cumberland County Schools host job fairs August 4th and 5th

Cumberland County Schools are hosting job fairs to fill over 80 positions before they return to school, with the first one being held Owen Elementary on Tuesday.

Officials said that 40 people applied for jobs on Tuesday, and 80 people applied for jobs last Thursday:

“Cumberland County hosted a recruitment fair at Owen Elementary School on Tuesday to attract more teachers, cafeteria workers and custodians to work in Cumberland County Schools.
The school system has 80 teaching positions to fill before school starts on Aug. 23.

“We have about 80 positions in the classified personnel,” said Dr. Lillian McDavid, certified personnel supervisor for Cumberland County Schools.

“We need custodial, we need prime time workers, we need bus drivers, we need child nutrition workers.”

Two more job fairs will be held over the next two days:
Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Walmart on 3030 N. Main Street in Hope Mills
Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Reid Ross Classical School on 3200 Ramsey Street in Fayetteville
