🚧 Notice of Beaver Trapping Activity – Kristen Ave (Laketree Neighborhood) 🚧

Residents are advised that the Town has identified several beaver dams in the creek located behind homes along Kristen Avenue in the Laketree neighborhood. To address this issue, a USDA biologist will be in the area over the next several days (this week and possibly into next week) to trap beavers and remove the dams.

Door hangers should have already been placed at homes directly affected by this activity.

You may notice a gray Fort Bragg truck parked nearby during this time. This is part of the authorized work being conducted.

This action is necessary due to the impacts caused by the dams, including:

• Damage to creek banks
• Saturation of residential lawns
• Potential destabilization of home foundations as water levels rise
• Increased risk of localized street flooding due to stormwater system impacts

There are already areas where water is encroaching into backyards, and proactive measures are being taken to prevent further damage.
