🚨💧 UPDATE: WATER MAIN LEAK ON NC HIGHWAY 87 (N. BRAGG BLVD.) 🚧

The Town of Spring Lake would like to provide an update regarding the ongoing water leak along NC Highway 87 (N. Bragg Blvd.), near the intersection of Odell Road, in the vicinity of Williams Chapel Church.

🚧 REPAIR UPDATE – MONDAY, OCTOBER 26:

On Monday, representatives from RLT Construction and Town staff will meet on-site along NC Highway 87 to further evaluate the leak and determine the most effective course of action for repairs.

However, RLT Construction has identified a potential alternative that may allow crews to address the issue without having to excavate the highway.

On Monday, crews plan to excavate a previously accessed area along the sidewalk to determine whether they can locate the opposite side of the leak and safely isolate the damaged section of the water line, allowing the old line to be taken out of service.

✅ If this alternative is successful, it could eliminate the need to excavate N. Bragg Blvd., minimize traffic disruptions, and result in significant cost savings for the Town.

Please understand that this is a proposed solution, and its feasibility will be determined following Monday’s evaluation.

The Town appreciates the continued patience and understanding of our residents, businesses, and motorists as we work toward a safe, effective, and financially responsible resolution.

📢 Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
