Recreation Volunteer Opportunities

The success of the Spring Lake Recreation and Parks Department depends greatly on the collaborative efforts of staff, parents, players and volunteers.  Here are some specific areas where your volunteer efforts can make the biggest impact:
LINE DANCING INSTRUCTORS.  The Spring Lake Recreation and Parks Department is actively seeking individuals interested in leading instructional classes in Line dancing at the Community center. From Hip Hop to Country, line dancing offers a great fitness and artistic as well as fun approach to dancing. if you or someone you know is interesting in taking on this endeavor, give us a call.
COACH.  You have heard it before but it is true: volunteer coaches are the backbone of youth athletics.  We are always looking for men and women to step up to the challenge to coach our young people. We have a thriving and growing (its a good thing!) youth athletics program which ranges in ages from 4-18 with sports from soccer to football to t-ball to volleyball and everything in between. Each season, we depend on our coaches to help guide our young people through the season. Is it in you?

ADVISORY COMMITTEE. The Recreation Advisory Committee meets one time each month yet is instrumental in the life of the Recreation and Parks Department. This Board appointed committee serves and helps guide the operations of the department. If you truly want to make a difference in the life of the community but also in the life of the activities available, this is the perfect way to do it. (The volunteer appreciation certificate isn’t too shabby either!) NOTE: Please see the Recreation Advisory Committee page for more information.

TEACH. Karate. Jiu-Jitsu. Krav Maga. Basketball. Chess. Zumba. Ballet. Jazz Dance. Ballroom Dancing. There are so many possibilities. Are you particularly skilled in an ‘art’ and can teach others? Why not try? Why not partner with the spring Lake Recreation and Parks Department and open the world of opportunity to a whole new generation. We’d love to work with you. Give us a call.

If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, give us a call. We can be reached at (910) 436-0011.
